Terms and criteria for press accreditation

If you as a journalist or photographer want to carry out editorial work at Buktafestivalen, you must first apply for accreditation.

Regarding accreditation, we prioritize getting a good mix of serious journalists and media across genres and interests - not to get as many as possible to cover the festival.

Press accreditation for Buktafestivalen requires producing content about the festival.

Fee: We charge an accreditation fee for press. The fee for a day pass is NOK 100 per day and NOK 300 for a festival pass. Why is there a fee? Please remember that Buktafestivalen is non-profit. The fee goes, among other things, to cover the expenses we incur by setting up and operating the press tent on the site.

We emphasize these criteria:

  • That the media appears serious and professional.
  • That the application describes specific editorial goals, focus areas, and target audiences.
  • That the total accreditation pool contains a representative focus on Buktafestivalen's core areas such as music, volunteerism, art, architecture, climate, food, technology, and innovation, among others.
  • That Buktafestivalen does not appear as a 'background' for an activity that could theoretically take place anywhere.
  • That the applicant - if accredited in previous years - has sent us editorial content as documentation of coverage of the festival.
  • That the application is received on time and not after the deadline.

Before applying, we ask you to be aware of the following:

  • Not all applicants will be accredited. You contribute to increasing the chance of accreditation if you take into account the above points.
  • Accreditations are granted solely for the purpose of carrying out editorial coverage. It is not allowed, without prior written agreement with Buktafestivalen to use Buktafestivalen's name, trademarks, and properties for marketing purposes. It is also not allowed, without prior written agreement with Buktafestivalen, to carry out marketing measures during the stay at the Bukta Festival, including making audio and video recordings for commercial purposes.
  • With your accreditation follows a responsibility to respect the festival's free space. Deliberately or unconsciously, festival-goers may risk being portrayed in a way they do not want. It is the media's responsibility to respect this freedom in any coverage, and an approved accreditation is therefore also a consent to this.
